I understand the original is made redundant by the new version but it may be annoying if your PC isn't able to play the Definitive Edition but can play the original due to the former's high system requirements, and even worse if players only have the original version since I've read that the original and DE versions are not compatible with each other making it impossible for old players to play with new players. I also checked and they don't have the Steam codes for the original games, only the Definitive Editions. I didn't know about a new version of Dead Island but what I've noticed is the original Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide are no longer on Steam being replaced with the Definitive Edition so you can't buy the original games.
